Our different box springs
The upper side
The upper side of the box is made of mirror fabric. Mirror fabric is made from 100% polyester and ensures excellent ventilation. The upper side of the box is also equipped with two Velcro strips to prevent the mattress from slipping.
The comfort layer
The comfort layer of the box is made from 20mm polyether foam and covers the pocket springs in the box. This ensures better distribution of pressure and makes it more comfortable to lie on.
The pocket springs
In addition to Auping mattresses, Auping boxes also contain pocket springs.
The unique DPPS® pocket springs offer optimal support and allow you to turn over smoothly and easily without waking up.
DPPS® stands for: Dynamic Progressive Pocket Springs. These pocket springs were specially developed for Auping. The spring (in a pocket) is asymmetrical, with a firmer underside and a more flexible top.
People roll over approximately 30 times a night, but with the DPPS® pocket spring your sleep will be undisturbed.
The upholstery
Auping box springs are upholstered with fabrics from the Auping fabric collection. The upholstery fabric makes the box spring strong and resilient. You can choose a white mattress or an upholstered mattress and mattress topper for your box spring.
The Auping fabric collection consists of 95 different fabrics, which differ in colour and structure. There are five fabric groups:
Fabric group A: These are basic fabrics in solid colours that have subtle textures. All three fabrics – Grid, Peach, and Salt – are made of polyester.
Fabric group B consists of fabrics with special structures. The Points, Maze and Dew fabrics all have a highly inviting, tactile quality.
Fabric group C contains two warm, rich and graphically designed fabrics: Facet and Reflect. Both fabrics are produced close to home in Europe.
Fabric group D consists of three premium woollen fabrics, all from the Danish fabric manufacturer Kvadrat: Clara, Remix and Re-wool.
Fabric group E contains three exclusive luxury fabrics. The woven fabrics Plecto and Sprinkles and the fabric Jaali bring a rich touch of luxury to your bedroom.
*The box spring Auping Tone can only be upholstered with a material from fabric group A.
The felt base
The underside of the Auping mattress is made of a felt base and a mesh base.
The anthracite felt base ensures stable support and good ventilation.
All* Auping box springs are available in a variety of widths:
80, 90, 100, 120 or 140cm or as a double box spring: 160cm, 180cm, 200cm (two boxes).
All* Auping box springs are available in three lengths:
200, 210 or 220cm.
*The box spring Auping Tone is only available as a double box spring in the following sizes: 160 or 180cm wide and 200 or 210cm long.
The mesh base
The underside of the box consists of an Auping mesh base. It is vital to Auping that all our beds feature optimal ventilation, and for this reason, our box springs are all equipped with a mesh base. Auping mesh bases consist of braided steel, which gives them a fine and open structure. The mesh base is 80 per cent open, ensuring excellent ventilation. This gives you plenty of air. All Auping mesh bases are made of extremely strong steel and aluminium and are treated with Deep Black powder coating to create a colourfast and wear-resistant base that will last for years.
The box spring legs
The legs of the Original en Kiruna box spring are available in the 10 Auping colours and in 2 different heights.
Height of the box: 22 cm,
Height of the box and legs: 38 cm,
Space under the box: 8 cm.
If you select the taller leg, then this will add 5cm in height.
The sleek, low frame of Auping Tone is available in five colours: Deep black, Pure white, Cool grey, Warm grey en Dusty red.
Height of the Tone box: 17 cm,
Space under the box 8 cm.
The designer frame of the box spring Criade is available in the ten Auping colours.
Height of the box: 22 cm,
Height of the box and legs: 38 cm,
Space under the box: 12 cm.
Separable box springs
The box springs Original and Kiruna are also available as a separable set: thanks to a handy coupling system, the foot end of Original can be easily separated. As a result, it is much easier to make the bed or vacuum under it. The separable set consists of a coupling system and eight wheels that are placed on the bottom of the legs.
The adjustability
Extra back support
We also offer adjustable box springs.* In such cases, the box springs come with a smart bed base equipped with anti-snoring technology and a smart alarm clock. You can choose from beds with one, two or even three adjustable zones.
Auping Original, Kiruna and Criade box springs are available with:
1M smart base: The one-motor box spring has an electrically adjustable back zone. The foot zone can be manually adjusted into six different positions.
2M smart base: The two-motor box spring has a back zone and a foot zone that are electrically adjustable. Both zones can be adjusted independently. Adjusting the foot zone creates a knee bend.
3M smart base: The three-motor box spring allows you to electrically adjust the back, foot and head zones independently. Adjusting the foot zone creates a knee bend.
*The box spring Auping Tone is only available as a flat box spring.

Auping box springs are structured in three layers. A mattress is placed on top of the lower part of the box spring (the box). You can upholster your mattress if you wish, or you can keep it white. If you choose to upholster your mattress (a real box spring mattress), then a mattress topper will be added on top of that.

How well can you recycle our mattresses?
About 35 million mattresses are discarded and thrown away in Europe alone every year. Many mattresses are burned or end up on the rubbish dump. At Auping, we want to do this differently. Better.
Mattresses are difficult to recycle due to the complex composition of glued materials. At Auping, we develop mattresses that are as recyclable as possible. Auping Inizio scores a B label.
The materials can be reused continuously to make new mattresses. That is circular.
Don’t be ashamed. A big part of the materials is reused to make, for example, a judo mat or sound insulation. We call it downcycling.
The materials are ground down into granules that are burned in the incinerator. The heat released in this process is used to generate electricity.
The materials end up as landfill.
Did you know that a lot of mattresses end up in the rubbish dump unnecessarily? Therefore, always take your old mattress to an Auping store or waste disposal station for the best possible processing.
