The ticking

The top layer of the mattress, the ticking, is made of polyester and therefore very ventilating. The ticking has no topstitching and that is why it’s elastic and extra soft.

The ticking contains no wool, is removable and easily washable at 60 degrees. Ideal for people with wool or house dust mite allergy.

Pocket springs

Auping Elysium is made of new materials in a completely new design. In the centre of this mattress is a pocket spring core with 3 zones, specially developed for Auping. Made of only 2 materials; steel and polyester.

Without noticing, you turn about 30 times a night and with these pocket springs your sleep will not be disturbed.

The underside of the mattress

The underside of Auping Elysium consists of a felt base made of polyester. This felt base provides a stable basis, good ventilation and is circular.

All Auping mattresses are suitable for all bed bases and are available in a variety of sizes, both single and double, up to 220 cm in length.

Triple Vent-tex® comfort layer

On top of the pocket springs are three Vent-tex® comfort layers, which ensures you lie comfortably.

Vent-tex® is made of elastic knitted polyester material and has a flexible feel. This highly elastic comfort layer with an open structure will provide excellent ventilation and support. So this mattress feels nice and soft.

Harmony-pocs®

Auping Elysium gives you a cosy feeling. It has a Harmony-pocs® comfort layer, which we developed especially for this mattress. It is made up of many (over 800) mini springs that are individually packed in small textile bags. The springs distribute the pressure well and give you the feeling of being hugged, as if you were receiving a loving embrace. But it doesn’t feel constricting because the mini springs have an open structure that ensures good airflow and moisture regulation.

Niaga®click-unclick adhesive

The components of the mattress are held together by polyester yarn and a special bonding system: Niaga®click-unclick adhesive. These are granules of polyester that are melted by heating them in order to bond parts together. After use, Niaga® click-unclick adhesive can be reheated to detach the parts. This ingredient is what makes it possible to produce a modular circular mattress.

Product passport

The Auping Elysium mattress has been equipped with the Niaga®label. Products with this label are designed for reuse. By scanning the label, you can see which materials have been used to make your mattress and how it can be returned for recycling. This allows us to reuse the valuable materials again and again so together we can help eliminate waste.

How well can you recycle our mattresses?

About 35 million mattresses are discarded and thrown away in Europe alone every year. Many mattresses are burned or end up on the rubbish dump. At Auping, we want to do this differently. Better.

Mattresses are difficult to recycle due to the complex composition of glued materials. At Auping, we develop mattresses that are as recyclable as possible. Auping Inizio scores a B label.

Perfect

The materials can be reused continuously to make new mattresses. That is circular.

Okay to recycle

Don’t be ashamed. A big part of the materials is reused to make, for example, a judo mat or sound insulation. We call it downcycling.

Barely recyclable

The materials are ground down into granules that are burned in the incinerator. The heat released in this process is used to generate electricity.

Sinful

The materials end up as landfill.

Did you know that a lot of mattresses end up in the rubbish dump unnecessarily? Therefore, always take your old mattress to an Auping store or waste disposal station for the best possible processing.
